A'DAM in Concert // Jules

The second edition of A’DAM in Concert will finally take place. A’DAM in Concert will be a monthly evening where you can enjoy a tiny concert on Thursday. This week we have emerging talent Jules as our guest.

Music runs like a red thread through Julia van der Kleij’s life. From an early age she has been singing, playing piano and cello, writing her own music and playing in the Kennemer Youth Orchestra. As an 18-year-old Julia comes to live in Amsterdam. She joins a sorority, where she sings and plays in the house band. Thanks to this band, she ends up in Jochem Fluitsma’s studio to record songs she wrote herself. She is developing rapidly as an artist and is experiencing great growth.

Jules’ music style (pop with a soul edge) stems from genres and artists that inspire her. She herself likes to listen to old soul, gospel, jazz and blues. By combining this with modern pop music, she manages to find her signature sound.
